Seeing as Obama was trying to get Uncle Sam to change his energy source, but at the end Uncle Sam gets into his car (gasoline), is ironic. To me this means that the United States knows and means to change, but still ends up doing the same thing, or in this case using the same energy source. Personally, I'm not sure what it means about myself. Maybe the same as the United States. I mean well but it's just to hard to do it that way, so instead I do what I already know.

I think this cartoon says that the U.S. knows what were doing is wrong and we do want to change for the better however i think we lack the resources or enthusiasm to do so. However, my personal opioion is that America is too selfish and greedy to actually stand up and do anything. America consume's way more of the world's natural resources, than contributes. America did not turn out to be the beautiful place our four farthers had imagined.
What it says about the United States is that the U.S. has been having problems with the economy and global warming and Obama is trying to fix it. My personal opinion is that we need to stop taking advantage with what we have and contribute with the cost before it’s too late.

In my opinion i think that the picture is trying to say that the united states knows were doing wrong by getting oil from other places and including fighting for it. why cant we find other ways? We can find others ways of using gasoline or even inventing ways to move a car. honestly i dont know what it means im just saying my opinion.

The cartoon illustrates how the president sees what the United States needs to change, but the U.S doesn’t. In the cartoon, Obama tells Uncle Sam that he is addicted to oil and tries leading him the other way but Uncle Sam still goes to his gasoline burning car. For myself, I think it shows how we are dependent on the certain energy sources to get us by.
In my opinion, the cartoon shows two things about the United States, our stubbornness and blindness. The president is trying to get the nation to follow him towards more efficient energy sources because of the damage it is doing, but the people do not see what the president does. They continue burning up the resources and ignoring the obvious. Even with electric cars being made people would rather buy high priced gas guzzlers. Being my age there isn’t much I can do; even if I could it would take more than one person to turn this situation around.
The cartoon shows how our president realizes whats wrong with our economy and how we really need to make a change. But us as a whole dont see a problem with whats happening. In the cartoon the prestident is trying to get uncle sam to shift to a new source of energy that is more efficent and less harmful to the economy, but he sticks with his old ways and goes for the ozone killing gasoline powered car. We need to make a change if we want to fix our economy and the world.
President Obama is trying to help Uncle Sam (America) from his addiction to oil.Just like always America does what it does best, says that they want to do something but never take the action for it and ignore the bigger picture. This cartoon also implies that if the younger generation keeps doing the same well never get out of this "Addiction".
In my opinion I see that Obama wants to make the United States better and of course we want to also but we don't do anything about it. We continue to waste and waste when there are better things out there but we just don't care. Obama wants to go more green but sam contradicts the envirnmental needs by still finding comfort in a vehicle that burns fossil fuels. It describes us cause even though we advocate to go green, we still have our customs of using our cars, taking the bus or by air plane, all is what needs to be changed and the people hold the power to do so but they wont do it cause of their comfort to a vehicle and what not.
